Plant Overview
This shrub has multiple woody cane-like, reddish-brown arching stems that form an open vase habit that becomes rounded with age. It has dark glossy green leaves that turn bronze in autumn and clusters of white funnel-shaped flower appear during summer.

Cultural Uses Propagation
The Glossy Abelia is grown for its dense bushy habit and its clusters of white flowers. It is planted in parks and gardens along borders for screening or trimmed to form a hedge. It is also planted against walls or used in planter boxes.
Take soft tip cuttings from spring to summer and semi hardwood cuttings from summer to autumn. Take hardwood cuttings during winter. This shrub transplants easily, wrap the root ball and keep moist.
